Owning My Value: A Personal Breakthrough
Yesterday, on a long drive home from a conference with my husband, we found ourselves in one of those deep, soul-level conversations. We started talking about value — the kind we bring to our marriage, to our family, and to those around us.
In that moment, I had an epiphany:
For years, I’ve carried this quiet belief that unless I was making more money, I wasn’t adding value. That belief had become a lens I looked through — in business, in motherhood, in ministry, even in my self-worth.
But God gently corrected that.
I realized I had been seeking value in the wrong context.
I want to share this with you because it marks a turning point for me — and maybe for you, too. I know I’m not alone. I know there are others out there who feel the weight of proving their worth through performance, productivity, or profit. If that’s you, lean in with me for a second.
Here’s what I’m choosing to believe now:
I already have value. Not because of anything I do, but because Jesus gave His life for me. That truth doesn’t need to be earned or achieved — it just is.
And from that place of knowing, I can show up fully in my relationships, my calling, my creativity, and my service — not to prove myself, but to radiate the truth that’s already been planted within me.
God has gifted me with unique talents and life experiences — and so many of them are not tied to a paycheck. I am choosing to own my value so I can be a magnetic presence, multiply what I’ve been given, and live from a place of wholeness.
This isn’t about striving anymore.
It’s about stewarding what’s already been placed inside me.
If you’ve ever found yourself asking, “Am I enough?” or “What am I really bringing to the table?” — hear this loud and clear:
You don’t have to prove your value. You already have it.
Walk in it. Own it. Let it overflow into every corner of your life.
📖 Scripture Reflection:
“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”
— Luke 12:6–7 (NIV)
Let this verse remind you: your value is not in what you do, but in who you are — deeply known, remembered, and treasured by God.
📝 Journal Prompt:
Where have I been trying to prove my worth instead of owning it?
What would it feel like to show up from a place of already being valuable?
